Thane has emerged as a major pickleball hub in Maharashtra, driven by rising participation across age groups, improved coaching infrastructure, and a growing calendar of local tournaments.

5th Maharashtra State Pickleball Tournament 2026 held in Thane

The 5th Maharashtra State Pickleball Tournament 2026, powered by NovaCurro Naturals and Elixir Pickleball Academy, was held on 15–16 August 2026 at KBP College and Thane Bedekar College. The event recorded 391 entries across 24 categories, underscoring the sport’s expanding reach in the state.

Organised by the Amateur Pickleball Association of Thane (APAT) and the Amateur Pickleball Association, Maharashtra (APAM) under the All India Pickleball Association (AIPA), the tournament attracted players from across Maharashtra, highlighting a deepening talent pool.

The event was attended by Milind Ballal and MLC Niranjan Davkhare, with support from Thane Pickleball Association President and Senior Corporator Manohar Dumre and Secretary Sachin More.

It was conducted under the guidance of AIPA President Arvind Prabhoo, Treasurer Nikhil Mathure, Chetan Sanil (AIPA & Asia Pickleball Association Secretary), Gopal Tikmani, and APAM President Yashodhan Deshmukh.

The organising and coaching responsibilities were led by Vaidehi Gupte (NovaCurro Naturals) and Dr. Gauri Joshi and Kiran Patil (Elixir Pickleball Academy), ensuring smooth execution of the two-day event.

The tournament showcased skill, discipline, and sportsmanship, offering a strong state-level competitive platform. Organisers said the event marked another milestone in Maharashtra’s pickleball growth, reflecting rising participation, improved standards, and stronger institutional backing. They also thanked all players, coaches, officials, dignitaries, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters for its success.
